Brief History

Our History

The choir was originally the brainchild of Tom Farrell, a former distinguished player with the Rugby Club.

Tom gathered a handful of likeminded individuals, and together they formed the nucleus of what is today the County Cavan Rugby Club Choir.

At the foundation, the choir was under the musical directorship of Paula O’Neill, and accompanist Mary O’Connor.

In 2012, Dr Ann Noelle Bennett was appointed musical director, and Ms Carmel Fay as accompanist. Over the short period of its existence, the choir has performed in many and varied venues, from small parish halls, to a packed Aviva Stadium.

We work on the premise that people like to listen to songs they know, or at least are familiar with, so the choir processes a large repertoire of popular numbers.

We love to perform and entertain, and our repertoire reflects this.
