Trip to New York

Trip To New York

On the 15th march 2016, a large contingent of choir members, friends and partners headed for New York to take part in the St Patricks’ day celebrations.

In what turned out to be a very busy schedule, the choir performed three concerts, and marched in the main parade under the banner of the “Cavan Men’s Association”.

The concerts which were a great success, took place in the Landmark Theatre, in Port Washington, The Banquet Room in Rory Dolan’s on McLean Avenue, Yonkers, and at a packed Irish centre in Mineola, Nassau County, Queen’s.

The choir party based themselves in the Washington Hotel on 7th Avenue, and used the great central location as a launching pad for a few good evenings on the town.

A lot of hard work went into the organising of this event, and the choir will be forever indebted to Mr Connie Reilly, and the Lennon family at the New York end, without whose help and guidance the trip would not have been possible.
